System Requirements
Prepare your Mac for multi-device recording.
eREC requires macOS Sonoma (14.0) or later on Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, or later) with at least one camera or microphone.
Operating System
- macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later.
Hardware
- Minimum: Your Mac must have at least one compatible camera and microphone (internal or external).
- Apple Silicon Required: eREC is designed and tested for Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, or later). It is not supported on Intel-based Macs, though it may work unofficially. No support is provided for Intel-based systems.
- Recommended for Multi-Device Recording: For optimal performance with multiple high-resolution sources (e.g., several 1080p or 4K cameras), we recommend an Apple Silicon Mac with at least 16GB RAM and a fast SSD. Performance varies based on the number and resolution of connected devices.
Permissions
- eREC requires permission to access your camera and microphone. macOS will prompt you on first launch. If issues arise, check System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Disk Space
- Ensure sufficient free disk space for recordings. High-resolution, multi-device sessions can quickly consume storage (e.g., 1GB per minute for 4K video per device).
- Factors include the number of devices, resolution, frame rate, and recording duration.
